Each camp session includes no more than ten students, so that each can develop an individual relationship with ourhorses and instructors. While under constant supervision, each student learns to safely halter, lead, and groom a horse. Beginning riders will be shown how to put a bridle and saddle on the horse, how to mount safely, and how to navigate the ring at a walk and trot. More advanced students will learn how to recognize and treat common ailments, how to clean and assemble tack, and will practice their riding skills at the walk, trot, canter, and over low jumps if appropriate.
Palladia Farm summer camp runs Tuesday to Friday, from 9:30am to 3:00 pm.
Camp is open to riders ages 6 to 12 with no prior riding experience required. Campers will learn first hand horsemanship as well as spend 45 minutes in the saddle each day in a semi-private riding lesson. Beginning riders will be learn to walk and trot as well as navigate poles while more advanced students will hone their skills at the walk, trot and canter as well as small jumps if appropriate. Campers will be under constant supervision as they develop their horsemanship skills, bond with their ponies and make lasting friendships!
