Each piece of our
our custom bridle is made according to
the measurements you provide us. If your horse needs a larger brow band
or a
longer cheek piece, for instance, we'll construct exactly what you
need.
All of our custom bridles are made of English Sedgwick
leather known world-wide for its suppleness, strength and durability.
Sedgwick leather is pit
tanned and hand curried, which results in stronger fibers and a
smoother, softer
finish.

Each custom
bridle is completely hand sewn and hand crafted
-- often
with traditional tools more than 200 years old.
Michael, for
instance, prefers to use a pricking wheel
made in the early 1800s, because, he says, it's "much
more
precise than more modern versions."
Each piece is also
completely hand
sewn. With machine-made
bridles, a break in the stitching means
the whole piece may unravel; whereas, a similar break in a hand-made
bridle is contained to one stitch, so the integrity of the entire
piece remains strong.
Call or email us,
and we'll explain
what measurements are needed and how to make them. We'll also go over
all the
details such as leather color, hardware finishes and styles.

We specialize in sidesaddle repair and
restoration, using only original materials and traditional
methods.

This saddle was made in the late 1700s by
Wilkerson & Kidd, London. Our Master Saddler rebuilt it using
deerskin leather and wool flocking.
